Please note that while this app attempts to accurately represent the racial trajectories of a range of groups in the US, it is the brainchild of a Black woman and her experiences & knowledge through the lens of Blackness animate the app’s content which may function to replicate the Black/white binary.

Unless otherwise noted, the content of this app explores the racial trajectory of the US in a domestic context. While some content explores how race animates international conduct, the majority of the app will focus primarily on America’s racialized trajectory domestically.

The content of this app is meant to inspire further exploration. Please note that the app is not intended to speak universally for every member of any group nor is the content offered as the conclusive and authoritative position on any of the information provided.


Four

Indigenous people are the experts of their experience and their ancestral knowledge. Asian Americans are the experts of their experience and their ancestral knowledge. Latin people are the experts of their experience and their ancestral knowledge. Black people are the experts of their experience and their ancestral knowledge. The collective voice of any respective group should be sought out, understood in its full nuance & breadth, and prioritized over any individual or outside voice. Even voices with formal training, professional credentials, or other indicators of mainstream expertise. The voices of these respective communities speaking about their experiences/knowledge should also be elevated over the voices of other non-community members even if those voices are from other marginalized communities. This app is a tool meant to spark curiosity and offer resources & analysis. It is not meant to supplant the learning that must come from community and happen in community.
